Meet Our Staff

At Talbot First School, we have a dedicated team who we'd love for you to meet.

Mr Farrington
Interim Headteacher

Mr Farrington joined the Federation in December 2022, bringing with him many years of experience in leadership from his career in primary education.

Mrs S Holden
WIllow Class Teacher

I teach Reception and Year 1. I am the EYFS, Art and Design Technology Lead across The Woodlands Federation.

Miss J Allen
Maple Class Teacher

My name is Miss Allen and I teach Year 2, 3 and 4. I am looking forward to working with the children to show them the excitement around learning. My favourite subjects to teach are music and history, so you will hear us all singing in a lot of our lessons to help us learn new information. I know that the children make this school a wonderful place to learn, and I am delighted to be a part of the teaching staff here.

Mrs D Grocott
Senior and Ash Class Teacher

Hi, my name is Miss Beynon and I am the teacher in Ash Class. I have been at St Peter's for the past 7 years! I love being a part of our Federation and watching our children grow from their early years. I love seeing our children develop, flourish and have fun in the process too.
In addition to my teacher role, I am also the Senior Teacher in the school. I am also the Designated Safeguarding Lead along with the Maths, Music and Computing Lead across the Federation.
One of my favourite hobbies is reading and I have always loved reading from a young age. I love animals and have a very bubbly puppy called Frank who keeps me very busy!

Miss M Vickers
Birch Class Teacher

I’m Miss Vickers and I teach the older children in Year 2, 3 and 4 at St. Peter’s. It is so great to see children grow so much in character and independence during their time in my class.
I absolutely love reading and learning and want to help all our children do the same. I am also passionate about History.
I work across both schools within our Federation as the Science, RE and Curriculum Lead. This last year I have enjoyed going back to the drawing board and reinventing a curriculum that the children find engaging and exciting!

Mrs C Dwyer
Teaching Assistant

Hello! I am Mrs. Dwyer and I am a Teaching Assistant at Talbot First School. I joined the school 7 years ago and have the best job in the world working in Willow Class!
The aspect that I love the most about my job is seeing the children come in as Nursery children and leave our class as big, grown-up year 1 children, having developed and achieved so well.
In my spare time, I enjoy gardening but when the weather isn’t great, I love nothing more than curling up with my favourite book – The Gruffalo!

Miss E Tomkinson
School Secretary

Hi, my name is Miss Tomkinson and I joined the school in September 2024. I am looking forward to working with and getting to know everyone in my new role.

Mrs L Wragg
Teaching Assistant

I am a teaching assistant across the federation.
I have worked with children for 30 + years as a nanny in a day nursery and for the last 15 years as a teaching assistant.
I have worked within the federation since November 2019. During that time I have been mostly involved with providing interventions and support for children, something I enjoy and find very rewarding.
Out of school my interests are gardening, walking and running (not great distances) just keeping fit.

Mr Morgan
HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant)

I operate as a HLTA across both St Peter's and Talbot First School where I cover teaching and interventions. I am very fortunate to work with every class and get the opportunity to watch them progress and flourish.
I also lead our Wraparound Care, making an early start with Breakfast Club and closing the door on each day following the After School Club.

Mrs S Delaney-Lowis
School Secretary (St Peter's)

Hi I'm Mrs Delaney-Lowis. You'll usually find me in the office based at St Peter's answering your calls and emails. I love that no day is the same and getting stuck into all aspects of working in two lovely village schools with amazing children and staff! I joined in July 2023 after being a Graphic Designer for over 10 years. I still enjoy doing some graphics and arts and crafts but becoming a Mum made me want to work with children and I am very much enjoying my new role!

Mrs Talbot
Midday Supervisor

Hello! My name is Mrs. Talbot and I am a Midday Supervisor at Talbot First School. I have worked at this school for 38 years in different roles during my time here. I enjoy working with the children as they always say or do something that makes me laugh! It’s lovely to see the children grown in confidence from their early start in Nursery until they are ready to move on at the end of Year 4 to the next chapter in their lives.

Mrs S Greaves
Cleaner

Hi, I'm Mrs Greaves and I make sure that the school is clean each day.

Mrs Golding
Wraparound Care Assistant

Hi. My name is Ms. Golding. I am a Wraparound Care Assistant at Talbot First School. I have lived in the village for 26 years and my three children all attended Talbot First School.
I have three grandchildren and have worked at Talbot since September 2022.
I open and close school every day. I am here for breakfast and afterschool club. I enjoy lots of activities with the children including craft, sport, choir and gardening.
I enjoy listening to music and dancing. I also play hockey.

Kirsty Winters
Midday Supervisor

I currently work as a Wraparound Care Assistant and as a Supervisor at lunchtimes.
I first started Talbot First School back in 2007 when my eldest boy was in Year 2 and I have been here in varying forms ever since!
The children at Talbot (past and present) are all wonderful and make it a very special place indeed.
It is lovely to work in such a beautiful village and I spend much of my free time walking the local area with my dog Bertie. I love animals and also have two cats – Hattie and Herbie. Reading, gardening and spending time with my family and friends are all things that I enjoy doing during my spare time.
